Reports To: PTC Operations Manager

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate with sales management to identify and define product specifications and needs
  • Coordinate with operations management to ensure products fit within physical plant capacities and can be converted to finished goods with a minimum amount of scrap and waste
  • Use requirements defined by both sales and operations management to identify and select the best possible suppliers based on the applicable criteria of quality, cost, exclusivity and ability to buy direct
  • Cultivate, manage and leverage relationships with vendors to place the company in the optimal position of being able to offer the best quality products at the best available price in our industry
  • Negotiate the best possible pricing and payment terms based on projected purchasing needs
  • Lead the Purchasing Manager in their efforts to issue purchase orders to suppliers, expedite and track open orders, handle damage & returns, properly size kanbans, and manage the item database
  • Maintain and publish the Tingue, Brown Price Book to the sales force annually at a minimum and update throughout the year as necessary
  • Maintain and publish the Southern Converters Price Book annually at a minimum and update throughout the year as necessary
  • Update the sales force and customer service team on changes to the product line through memos and/or conference calls
  • Coordinate with marketing to verify accurate product information for press releases and to maintain consistency in product packaging and labeling
  • Write detailed Standard Works for day to day processes in all operational departments
  • Coordinate with each department supervisor to develop a list of all processes requiring Standard Works
  • Observe processes and document steps using a combination of written instructions, photographs and screen shots
  • Create a training book/binder for each department with Standard Works available to all employees
